FAQ

We hope we’ve answered most of the questions you may have in our website. In case you have additional questions, we have assembled this list of Frequently Asked Questions. In case you have more questions than we’ve listed here, PLEASE contact us!

We accept gently used bunk beds, twin, twin XL, full, and queen box springs and mattresses. We DO NOT accept king sized mattresses, futons, or mattress toppers.

Our typical client is requesting a twin or full-sized bed. We have opted to carry queen sizes too because there are so many of them out in the community. King sized beds are too difficult for us to pick up and they require much more storage space. As a result, we never accept king sized beds.

We are looking for beds that are in good condition, clean with minimal (if any) staining and no tears or broken pieces.

If your bed does not meet our repurposing condition requirements, we will not pick it up or accept it. If you are interested in recycling the bed to keep it out of a landfill, please contact BedHead Mattress Recycling. They are located in Billings, Missouri and will visit with you about their pickup or drop-off process. Or, please reach out to SEK Recycling in Pittsburg, KS at https://www.sekrecycling.org/.   If you are simply looking to dispose of it, please contact waste management for your area (keywords are typically solid waste or bulky item pickup).

Dream Big Little One provides beds, bedding and bed frames. We do not provide other furniture.

Dream Big Little One does not have labor or capacities to deliver beds. Clients must be able to provide transportation at the time of bed pick up.

Dream Big Little One’s mission is tied to meeting the needs of children in the community. Our program does not provide beds for adults in need of a bed.

Some beds we receive are new, some are not. Most of our beds come from the community, either through individual donations or purchased from cash donations made to DBLO Association. Although some of our beds are not new, we only redistribute gently used beds, those with relatively little (if any) staining and no tears.

When we schedule bed pickups, we are working in a specific area of the city. We can give you a window of time to expect us but cannot always guarantee a specific pick up time. We will always call to let you know when we are on our way from the prior stop.

We are not always at the storage facility during the day, so we have area drop-off locations. These locations require a scheduled appointment. To schedule a drop-off appointment, please contact Dream Big Little One Association at dblobeds@donatebeds.com.

Because we are a very small organization, we communicate almost exclusively through email. To be added to our list, you must apply through area Social Services offices. We do not take calls or online requests. If you are working with a social services agency, school, or church, please have the social worker submit your information. Local libraries are equipped with computers which are available to the public during their operating hours.
